About Us

At AZ Strength, our goal is to prepare athletes to compete at the highest level. This means developing high levels of strength, power, speed, agility, and quickness.  The foundation of our philosophy is kinesiology, which applies the sciences of biomechanics, anatomy, physiology, psychology, and neuroscience to the sports performance field.

Head trainer David Larson delivers a powerful combination of experience and education for his athletes. He is a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS,*D) with more than 8 years as a trainer and coach. He is one of only a handful of trainers in Greater Phoenix who hold the CSCS credential—and one of a select few in the state re-certified with *Distinction through the National Strength and Conditioning Association for outstanding contributions to the strength and conditioning and personal training fields. He is also a certified Level 2 Nutrition Coach through Precision Nutrition (Pn2).

Larson earned a Masters of Science and a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology from A.T. Still University and Arizona State University and is currently a doctoral student at A.T. Still University. In addition to his personal training and coaching practices, he is currently an Adjunct Faculty member at Arizona State University and A.T. Still University, where he teaches Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology, Research Methods, and Introduction to Kinesiology.
